Policies
Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before enrolling. Enrollment constitutes acceptance of all policies below.
Section 1
Enrollment
Enrollment at Heikura Dance School, LLC is complete when all of the following have been submitted: (1) a completed enrollment form, (2) a signed participant agreement (waiver), and (3) the one-time $25 enrollment fee plus first month’s tuition.
Spots are not reserved until all three items are received. Heikura reserves the right to limit class sizes and to place students on a waitlist when a class is at capacity.
The $25 enrollment fee is non-refundable and is charged once per student at the time of initial enrollment. The fee is not charged again unless a student withdraws and later re-enrolls. All fees are subject to applicable tax.
Section 2
Tuition & Payment
Monthly tuition rates are as follows: Tamaiti (Ages 3–7) — $45/month; Keiki (Ages 8–12) — $50/month; ʻŌpio (Ages 13–17) — $50/month; Mākua (Ages 18+) — $60/month. All amounts are subject to applicable tax.
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. A grace period is provided through the 5th of the month. All payments must be submitted online through the Heikura website. Cash and checks are not accepted.
Automatic (recurring) payments may be set up by the student or parent/guardian through the Heikura payment portal.
If tuition is not received by the time of the second class of the month, the student’s enrollment will be forfeited and the spot released. Bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual payment plans are not available.
Section 3
Refund Policy
All tuition and fee payments are non-refundable. Refunds or credits will not be issued for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Illness or injury
- Voluntary withdrawal from the program
- Scheduling conflicts
- Dismissal due to behavioral issues
- Missed or skipped classes
- Class cancellation due to holidays or emergencies (a recorded class video will be provided in such cases)
Section 4
Pause & Withdrawal Policy
A temporary enrollment pause may be requested in writing and must be discussed directly with Heikura management. Pauses are not guaranteed and are granted at Heikura’s sole discretion.
Approved pauses of up to 2 consecutive months may be granted. Students on an approved pause retain their spot. Absences or pauses exceeding 2 consecutive months will result in forfeiture of the student’s enrollment spot.
Students who withdraw or forfeit their spot must re-apply for enrollment and may be placed on a waitlist. The $25 enrollment fee will apply again upon re-enrollment. Tuition paid during a pause period is non-refundable.
Section 5
Non-Payment & Spot Forfeiture
Heikura maintains enrollment waiting lists. Tuition must be received by the time of the second class of each month. Failure to pay by this deadline will result in automatic forfeiture of the student’s enrollment spot, which will then be offered to the next student on the waitlist.
Heikura is not responsible for notifying families individually before releasing a spot due to non-payment. Families are expected to manage their own payment schedule.
Section 6
Tamaiti Class — Guardian Requirement
Students enrolled in the Tamaiti class (Ages 3–7, Tuesdays 5:45–6:30 PM) must have a parent or legal guardian present in the facility for the duration of every class. Heikura is not a drop-off program for students in this age group.
Guardians are expected to remain attentive and available to the student. Repeated absence of a required guardian may result in removal from the program without refund.
Section 7
Photo & Video Consent
By enrolling, the student (or their parent/guardian if under 18) grants Heikura Dance School, LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to photograph and video-record the student during classes, rehearsals, and performances for use in school promotions, social media, and marketing materials.
If you do not wish to grant this consent, you must notify Heikura in writing at the time of enrollment. Withdrawing consent after enrollment does not affect media already captured or published.
Section 8
Code of Conduct
Heikura Dance School is a respectful, culturally grounded environment. All students, parents, and guardians are expected to:
- Treat instructors, fellow students, and the cultural traditions being taught with respect.
- Arrive on time and prepared for class.
- Follow instructor direction during class without disruption.
- Refrain from the use of phones or electronic devices during class time.
- Maintain appropriate language and behavior in and around the studio.
- Respect the cultural context of each dance tradition and avoid mockery or misrepresentation.
Heikura reserves the right to dismiss any student from the program for conduct that is disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful to the learning environment. No refund will be issued in the event of dismissal for behavioral reasons.
